Hanging out at Dillanos Coffee Roaster

Fact I learned today: In about a year's time, one tree produces about one pound of coffee beans. In about one week, an average coffee retailer will sell 300 pounds of coffee. That means that one coffee retailer goes through 300 trees' annual harvest in one week. Whoa! Photo by Alison Yin

More Pink Salmon Fishing

Early Wednesday, August 15, 2007, fishermen crowded at Browns Point Lighthouse Park along the Sound to fish off-shore for pink salmon, which only come every other year. The fishermen participate in "jig" fishing whereby they use lead-weighted lures called "buzz bombs" for bait, and are constantly casting and reeling in line. The lures flutter through the water and then settle before being reeled in; this makes them appear as bait. Photos by Alison Yin

Rainier National Park

Rainier National Park Service used a helicopter to drop bridges onto the Wonderland Trail, which had parts damaged last winter due to the storms.

Lily Bo

My brother, Aaron, and sister in-law, Jennye, are the proud parents of Lily Bo. I can't decide between the middle two photo, but who cares Lily is adorable.
